OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — On Friday, people around the country will sport red to show their support and help raise awareness for a particular women's health issue.
Go Red for Women Day is part of the American Heart Association's (AHA) campaign to raise awareness about the risk that heart disease plays in the lives of women every day. The AHA says heart disease claims the lives of one woman every 80 seconds and that 1-3 women will die of heart disease.
You can show your support by wearing red, making donations to the cause of raising awareness and by posting selfies on social media with the following tags: #WearRedDay #GoRedNE and tag @HeartNebraska
