At approximately 3:22 PM on Saturday, 13 May 2017, officers of the Blair Police Department, assisted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the Blair Municipal Airport at 2785 Hwy 133 for a report of a crashed aircraft.
Once on scene, officers discovered that a AS+Limited AC4 glider had crashed during take-off. The pilot and sole occupant of the glider was confirmed deceased and identified as Michael Boska, age 59 of Glenwood Iowa.
The Federal Aviation Administrationis currently investigating the cause of the crash.
