Pinnacle bank championship coming to Omaha

Posted

Some say it’s the biggest event in Omaha between the College World Series and Husker football.

This year the Pinnacle Bank Championship Golf Tournament is all about the spectacular view for fans.

In just six days thousands of golf fans will pack the Club House at Indian Creek Golf to watch the world's best up-and-coming male golfers compete in the Pinnacle Bank Championship.

"This is a big league course, the kind of course you would see on the PGA tour"

Pinnacle Bank Championship Director of Sales Gary Java says it’s going to be the ultimate fan experience.

"They love the crowd, they love the way the city of Omaha embraces their events.”

“This used to be a signature event that went away in 2013."

Now that the web.com tour is back with 156 professional golfers competing for the title, Java says this is the excitement Omaha has been missing.

"To have something between the College World Series and Husker football, this is professional golf coming back and embracing Omaha again."

Java says they are going all out, providing the best view and dining for fans as they watch a professional golf tournament.

"This fan experience is going to be something special; they've never had here before in Omaha"

Players not only compete for a title but for a piece of the 600 thousand dollar purse, and hopefully eventually a spot on the PGA tour.

"You got to be good to get on this tour, earn your way on and stay on this tour.”

Tickets are only ten dollars before Thursday’s opening round and 15 dollars at the gate. Organizers say that’s a deal for a golf tournament of this kind.
