Omaha Police are investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting Thursday afternoon.
Gang Unit officers patrolling the area near 31st & L located what they describe as a "known suspect" near the Sol's Jewelry & Loan store around 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Investigators say the situation escalated and ended with an officer firing his weapon. The suspect was taken to Nebraska Medicine where he died from his injuries. Police are not releasing names, the number of shots that were fired, or if the suspect was armed.
Police are expected to release more details at a press conference Friday.
