Omaha police were called to Bucky's at 101 North 30th Street early Sunday morning to investigate a possible shooting.
The convenience store and gas station is located just North and East of Turner Park.
When officers arrived they found one man between the gas pumps with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. Medics rushed the man to the Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition.
Sometime after arriving at the hospital, the man died.
Police identified the victim Sunday afternoon as 27-year-old Andrew Peek.
The Omaha Police Homicide Unit is asking anyone with information to come forward by calling them at 444-5656 or Crime Stoppers at 444-STOP.
