Police make arrest in midtown stabbing on Sunday night

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A man has been arrested in connection to a stabbing on Sunday, Omaha Police announced on Monday.

Police say they responded to 715 North Saddle Creek Road on Sunday evening and found a 34-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds and leaning against a building.

Authorities say an investigation determined the stabbing occurred at 820 North 44th Street, about half a mile away.

Donnie Bess, 59, was arrested in connection to the incident. He was charged with second degree felony assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

The victim, 34-year-old Stuart Schweitz, was transported to a nearby hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
