NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KMTV) — The North Platte Police Department says they received a report of two men claiming to be Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) representatives in an attempt to remove a child from their parent.

They say the woman who reported the incident used good judgment and contacted police when it was safe to do so.

Police contacted DHHS and say they are aware of the situation and that an investigator has been assigned to work on the case.

They want to remind everyone to "make sure to always pay attention to their surroundings, keep a close eye on your children, and to report any suspicious activity, vehicles, and/or persons." When in doubt, they say to call the police.
