OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — In January, the Omaha Police Department was contacted by Council Bluffs Police regarding a missing person and found signs of foul play. This afternoon, the Omaha Police Department says a person of interest is in custody on unrelated charges.

On February 21, police say they determined 37-year-old Joseph Hellman was the victim of a homicide taking place on January 29, 2019.

Police say "investigators do not believe there is any threat to the public regarding this case" and "at this time Mr. Hellman's body has not been located."
