OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — It's been nearly three months since one Omaha woman, who was a mother and a known chef, was found murdered inside her home. Police say the case is at a standstill, but that could change if someone came forward with information.

"She was just giving, very giving, very family orientated," said Candice Williams, a long time friend of Ebony King.

On April 15th, King, a mother of three, was murdered inside her home off Hartman Avenue in Omaha. Now months later, there are still more questions than answers.

"We don't want to question why things happen, but in this case, we want to know why this happened it's not fair," said Williams

"Ms. King wasn't involved in activity that, one would think that her life lead to a homicide," said Detective Ryan Hinsley of the homicide unit with the Omaha Police Department.

He says multiple people were involved in what he called a home invasion. He couldn't say if anything was stolen from King's house but has reason to believe someone has information somewhere.

"It's a really tragic victim of a crime, and we (got) no tips from anybody, knowing, through the investigation there are people out there that have information about this," said Hinsley.

He says if that trend continues, the future outlook of the case is murky.

"Without solid evidence from the community and people stepping up and doing the right thing, it's going to be one of those cases that's going to be hard to advance on or later get a prosecution on," said Hinsley.

As for Williams, she says coping with everything is tough. She hopes for all of King's family, friends, and others that knew her, they get some closure soon.

"This will not bring her back, but we need something we need something to happen. We need something concrete that can lead us to who wanted to hurt her," said Williams.

If you have any information, contact Omaha Crime Stoppers (402-444-STOP) or the OPD homicide unit (402-444-5656). Any tips that lead to a homicide arrest can result in a $25,000.00 reward.
