Investigators say a suspect left behind part of his gun, which turned out to be a BB gun, during a robbery Sunday.
The La Vista Police Department is investigating after two men robbed the Sonic restaurant at 72nd and Harrison streets around 11 p.m. on Sunday.
Police said both men were armed with handguns, but one of them dropped a magazine from what they determined was a BB gun.
A customer called 911 to report the robbery after being alerted to it by an employee speaking over one of the drive-through speakers, according to police.
Responding officers set up a perimeter to try and find the suspects who ran from the scene, but weren’t able to locate them.
Police ask anyone with information to call them at (402) 331-1582.
