A man wanted for four different warrants was caught Thursday night after the car he was riding in crashed while trying to flee officers, police said.
The Council Bluffs Police Department says they were able to arrest Johnathan Featherstone, 22, after the vehicle he was riding in crashed because of a patch of ice.
Police say they tried to pull the vehicle over around 11:45 p.m. near N. 21st Street and Avenue C, but the driver pulled into an alley to try and get away.
That's when it slid on a patch of ice, according to police, and crashed into a fence.
Featherstone and the driver, 20-year-old Russell Barker, were arrested.
Featherstone faces charges of third-degree burglary, forgery, second-degree burglary and escape from custody. Barker is accused of eluding a police officer.
Police say they also found a gun in the vehicle, which Featherstone admitted was his.
