OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Due to flooding this year, many area events and festivals have had to scramble to pull them off. Most recently the Santa Lucia Festival had to relocate, albeit not very far, to welcome customers. Junkstock organizers say the show will go on at Sycamore Farms thanks to flood cleanup efforts.
Junkstock says they have made a lot of progress since the Elkhorn River deposited "literal ton after ton of sand all over the 130 acre century-old farm" thanks in part to volunteers.
“We are really excited to be back home at Sycamore Farms,” said Sara Alexander, Junkstock founder. “It has been a very long and challenging road to get the farm back in shape for our Junkstock family. We are so thankful for all of the support of the community throughout the entire process. We are so proud of our small but mighty team of helpers and volunteers who have been able to help restore some magic back to the farm. We can’t wait to celebrate our homecoming next weekend with everyone.”
