OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — There are still nine days before Christmas to get your last minute gifts but if you are shipping them, you are running out of time.

The postal service says Monday is traditionally their busiest day of the year.

"Tomorrow, we're expecting to have about 300,000 packages shipped so its gonna be a busy day," Omaha customer relations coordinator Steve Cunningham said.

Packages through normal ground shipping will not arrive by Christmas, however, you can use first class or priority shipping to get it there on time. To ensure the presents get where they need to be by Christmas, the priority shipping deadline is Dec. 20 and the priority express deadline is Dec. 22.

Nationwide through the holiday season, 16 billion packages are expected to be sent.
