A Pottawattamie County Sheriff's vehicle was struck during the course of a pursuit Thursday morning that ended in Omaha, according to Pottawattamie County investigators.
At 11:10 a.m. Thursday, Council Bluffs Police tried to pull over a vehicle they suspected had been stolen. When the driver didn't stop and continued onto Interstate 29, Pottawattamie County deputies joined the chase, investigators said.
As a deputy approached other law enforcement vehicles near the I-29 exit to North 25th Street, the suspect took that exit — without stopping at the stop sign — and caught the front bumper of the deputy's cruiser.
The deputy in the cruiser was not injured, and the vehicle sustained only minor damage, investigators said.
The suspect got back on I-29, traveling onto I-480 into Omaha. Omaha Police followed the vehicle, but later stopped the pursuit.
OPD later found the vehicle at 19th and Binney streets.
