A Council Bluffs scratch-off lottery ticket winner credits her pregnancy craving for her good fortune.
Nicole Smith, who is seven months pregnant, recently won $30,000 on the Iowa Lottery’s “Jolly Cash Crossword” game.
She told lottery officials she was craving ice and when she sent her boyfriend to the store to get her some, he also came back with the ticket.
She says her boyfriend didn’t believe her when she told him she won. He confirmed it’s worth by going back to the store to check it and started to celebrate.
Smith said the timing is great, adding that she feels like she’s dreaming.
The “Jolly Cash Crossword,” which costs $3, has eight remaining top prizes of $30,000.
