OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) is about to kick off its 47th year across the state. In preparation, organizers have launched a new resource for riders and residents.
This year the event will start in Council Bluffs near the 100 block and a new website has been launched to help people prepare.
The Council Bluffs Convention and Visitors Bureau says https://www.ragbraicb.com/ is a one-stop-shop for all things RAGBRAI.
Riders can:
- Make housing requests
- Find hotels
- Find things to do along the route
- Look at the route ahead of time
Residents can:
- Offer to host riders
- Volunteer for the event
Vendors will also find out more about offering their services for RAGBRAI-goers.
The Council Bluffs Convention and Visitors Bureau says
"This will be the 47th year of the seven-day bike ride that attracts an estimated 20,000 to 30,000 riders from around the country and the world. This year’s route starts in Council Bluffs with overnight stays in Atlantic, Winterset, Indianola, Centerville, Fairfield, and Burlington, ending in Keokuk. RAGBRAI 2019 begins on July 21 with many riders arriving in Council Bluffs on July 19 and 20."
