The American Red Cross is opening a shelter in Bellevue for residents impacted by last Friday's severe weather.

Anyone who has suffered damage to their home or is still experiencing prolonged power outages is urged to come to the shelter.

Volunteers are available to provide a safe place to stay, a cool place to sleep, a hot meal and referrals to community services.

Anyone coming to the shelter should bring essential items for each family member such as prescriptions, child or infant supplies and identification.
