OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Riverfront Revitalization Project is already underway at the Gene Leahy Mall. Starting next week, another part of the project will begin, ahead of schedule.

Construction at Heartland of America Park, located at 800 Douglas Street (the old Conagra Campus), was scheduled to begin in the beginning of 2020 says the Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority. Now, early construction is slated to begin next week they say.

To kick things off, closures will go into effect which will include barriers and signage. Sidewalks and parking lots in the area will also be closed.

The closures will be in effect until the projected project completion in 2023, weather permitting.
