Reward offered to catch suspects who shot dog

Posted

Investigators are looking for burglary suspects who shot and killed a dog in the home they broke into.

The Nebraska Humane Society has offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

They say the dog was shot multiple times by burglars who broke into a home on 38th Street, near Bedford Avenue, as the residents were in the process of moving out on Saturday, Dec. 12.

When family returned to pick up more items to move, according to officials, they couldn’t find their dog, an 11-month-old Rottweiler named Bella.

The owners found someone had broken in through the bathroom window and blood drops were left on the main floor.

“Evidence at the scene suggests the dog was shot on the main floor and ran into the basement before dying,” the Nebraska Humane Society said in a prepared statement.
