College World Series fans and Omaha locals alike be warned: Interstate 80 at 13th Street is still under construction.
The Nebraska Department of roads estimates it will take two construction seasons to finish the work, which includes widening I-80 and rebuilding the ramps.
13th Street serves as a main thoroughfare from downtown to the Henry Doorly Zoo. It’s also a main exit off I-80 for drivers heading downtown.
Redevelopment along the 13th Street corridor is underway after the popular Bohemian Cafe shut down in 2016.
For drivers coming from the west, consider taking I-480 to Leavenworth. For drivers heading in from Iowa, depending on your destination, consider taking I-29.
The good news is there are no major detours, so with some added patience and understanding for confused drivers, you’ll still be able to get where you need to go.
