OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Spooky stampeders took to the streets bright and early Saturday morning.

A half marathon and 5K was put on to raise money for Police Athletics for Community Engagement, or P.A.C.E.

P.A.C.E. creates programs to keep at-risk youth entertained and out of trouble.

Close to 200 outdoor enthusiasts participated and the winner finished in just over an hour.

"Multiple challenges, you had some really hilly sections and then you hit a lot of the flat stretches. They did a great job of theming that section by throwing out ghost figures in the trees, they had skeletons heads, it was a really beautiful experience," said Cory Logsdon, 1st place winner.

Police officers on horseback gave kids a treat and let them pet the horses.

P.A.C.E. Omaha is always in need of volunteers, visit their website to sign up.
