The president of Runza Restaurants Donald Everett Jr. is not happy with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln after it selected another bid to replace the restaurant at the school's student union.

In a letter to the editor published in the Daily Nebraskan, Everett said the University was unclear with what it wanted from the bid and that Runza contributes more than they make in profit at the union to the University each year. Everett felt that should have been taken into consideration when the bids were considered.

"During these trying economic times with the University budget, it is unfortunate that profits from out-of-state vendors chosen to replace Runza will leave Nebraska," he continued. "We urge union representatives to hold the new vendor to our performance level – to return all profits from the new concepts and more back to the University."

Runza had been in the Nebraska Union since 2008.
