OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Sarpy County is advising all residents near the Platte River to prepare to evacuate at a "moment's notice. "
They are also warning "sight-seers to avoid the Platte River and other flooded or potentially flooded areas. People in the area could be cited."
Additional advisement include:
- Called the Nebraska Humane Society if you have animals or livestock that you need help evacuating
- Check road conditions before traveling for closures. You can do so at https://lb.511.nebraska.gov//nelb/
- Don't attempt to drive through flood waters
- Call Nebraska State Patrol if you need motorist assistance at *55 or 9-1-1
