SARPY COUNTY, Neb. (KMTV) — A respected member of the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office retired Tuesday.

Jazz was an eight-year member of the K-9 unit with the Sheriff's Office. The dutch shepherd helped on both drug units and search units for the last eight years.

At a ceremony, she was given her own celebratory bone and peanut butter cake.

"It's going to be a lot of changes and she's my first working dog and the length of the career that we've had together is going to be different and I need to try to not hold my next dog to the expectations I held her to," said Dep. Amanda Illuzzi, Jazz's partner for the last eight years.

Jazz is retiring but she isn't going anywhere. She's going to move in full-time with Deputy Illuzzi.
