A security guard at Big Jim's Plus convenience store was shot overnight near 30th and Ames.
Officers responded to a shooting call around 1:45 a.m. at Big Jim's Plus. They found the victim, 62-year-old Keith McNeese, with critical wounds.
According to a release, "McNeese was working security at Big Jim's when a black male wearing a red coat entered the store and fired several shots, striking McNeese. The suspect then fled northbound through an alley."
McNeese was taken to Nebraska Med in critical condition but is expected to survive.
