NELIGH, Neb. (KMTV) — A semi hauling dozens of cattle overturned in Neligh on Thursday night, flinging the animals towards a nearby liquor store.
According to Neligh Police, the accident left the driver with minor injuries.
Of the 31 cattle inside the semi, three were found dead and four had to be euthanized by a local veterinarian. The remainder of the cattle were taken to the Antelope County Fairgrounds until the owner was able to locate another truck to pick them up.
Police say the semi didn't hit the liquor store; however, flying debris caused minor damage to the building.
The semi destroyed a street light, a fire hydrant and a street sign.
