Seven people escaped an apartment fire at 13th Street early Sunday morning that caused about $54,000 dollars worth of damage.
People in the first floor apartment woke up to smoke alarms and could smell smoke. The woke up their neighbors in two other apartments and everyone escaped to safety unharmed.
The Omaha Fire Department arrived to find flames in the attic. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
