Several Creighton students were apparently among those in a severe I-80 accident Monday morning, according to social media posts on the college president's account.
The accident, involving a semi, shut down westbound Interstate 80 near 84th Street for about 45 minutes as crews worked to extricate victims.
"University officials are at the hospital, but we do not have additional information to share with the campus community at this time," the Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, Creighton University's president, stated in his post.
A prayer vigil is planned for tonight on campus.
Please pray for our students involved in a serious car accident this morning. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at St. John’s.
