OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Omaha Police Department (OPD) says they've located and extradited a man who's accused of First-Degree Sexual Assault of a child...14 years after he was reported.

On July 3, OPD says they arrested 54-year-old Joseph Pierce, who was located in Indiana and extradited back to Nebraska, after they issued a warrant for his arrest for a report made in 2005. They say the alleged incident occurred it 1997/1998 but was not reported until later.

In December of 2018, the Bellevue Police Department notified OPD that they had contacted Pierce and the victim was then re-interviewed as an adult.

OPD says detectives also interviewed several family members and neighbors who lived in the area during the time the alleged assault took place.
