Shooting victim taken to hospital in critical condition on Monday night

Omaha Police are investigating a shooting that injured one person late Monday near 42nd and Curtis Ave.

Authorities responded to a ShotSpotter alert at 9:27 p.m. and found the victim, 37-year-old Tamika Sturgeon.

Sturgeon was hospitalized and police say her injuries are thought to be non-life-threatening.

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at (402) 444-STOP.

An unnamed victim was taken to Nebraska Medicine in critical condition after a shooting on 42nd and Curtis Ave.

At this time there is no description of the suspect involved.
