OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Golfing is a fun recreational activity for many. Yesterday, though, it was more than just quality time outside for golfers at an Omaha course.

Golfers teed off at Champion's Run Country Club to help raise money for the fight against childhood cancer. Northwestern Mutual hosted the event, which featured nearly 150 golfers all looking to help kids.

"These kids need out help, less than four percent of all national cancer research goes to fight childhood cancer, so we have to do our part and help these kids, help these families find a cure. That's the goal." Kelly Krings said, Chief Marketing Officer for Northwestern Mutual.

Organizers hope to raise more than $75,000 for the cause.
