OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Due to agricultural burning in Kansas and Oklahoma possibly impacting air quality, a smoke advisory has been issued for April 15-17 for Southeast and South Central Nebraska.

Both states monitor smoke levels and wind directions, letting Nebraskans know when air quality may be impacted.

Advisories help citizens protect their health by alerting them when outdoor activities should be reduced or avoided to minimize smoke exposure.

Data for the advisory is provided by the state of Kansas, smoke plume modeling, and from Beatrice, Lincoln and Omaha air quality monitors.
