Students at St. Albert Catholic School in Council Bluffs are getting an unexpected long weekend.
Due to an electrical fire, administrators have been forced to cancel classes Thursday and Friday. The childcare center will also be closed.
The fire broke out late Wednesday afternoon as electrical maintenance was being done.
The school says the building is required to be closed when electrical service and fire alarm systems are interrupted.
