The Creighton basketball NCAA Tournament game falls on the same day as St. Patrick's Day.
Celebrations start early Friday and continue.
Revelers are crowding into local bars to hoot and holler.
We caught up with a pair of Irish brothers who travel to Omaha each year from the west coast of Ireland to celebrate St. Patrick’s in Nebraska.
"Nobody celebrates St. Patty's like Omaha Nebraska does," said Scamus O’Jordan, Connemara, Ireland. "It's a lovely town, beautiful town.”
“Nobody knows who we are,” said Finnigan O’Jordan, Connemara. “Back home people grab us and make us give them gifts and wishes. We don't have that here."
Clancy's Pub is one of several places the O'Jordan's will visit Friday.
"How's the day going to end there Finnigan?” Scamus asked.
“Ohhh, still standing I hope," Finnigan replied.
The brothers say the holiday is more fun to celebrate in the U.S.
"A lot more fun,” Scamus said. “It's not as religious. It's all about having a green beer."
Meanwhile at the Tangier Shrine in Omaha, thousands of made-from-scratch corn beef and cabbage meals are served as part of their annual fundraiser.
"They're all friendly,” said Jason Aschenbrenner, Omaha. “Everybody seems to be very courteous. Help you out when you need something. The food is excellent.”
Also on this holiday?
An NCAA Creighton game.
"Man alive, today's a great day, March Madness and St. Patrick's Day, green beer and corn beef, who can beat it?” Said Dan Hanna, Omaha.
