OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Some downtown streets are closed to traffic in the downtown-area as the 45th annual Omaha Summer Arts Festival is about to get underway.
The following street closures started at noon Thursday:
- Mike Fahey Street from 10th to 14th Streets
- 13th Steet from Cuming to Cass
- 12th Street from Mike Fahey Street to CHI Health Center parking lot entrance
The closings will run through Sunday, June 9th at 11:59 p.m.Metro Bus riders are encouraged to call 402-341-0800 for more information on how the street closings will affect their routes.
The Omaha Summer Arts festival moved to the temporary location alongside TD Ameritrade Park as the Gene Leahy Mall renovations are ongoing. It's about a half-mile directly north of the festival's usual setting on Farnam Street.
The move is expected for the 2019, 2020 and 2021 festivals with a return to Farnam Street in 2022.
The festival runs June 7-9.
