OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — When severe weather strikes, we have teams of photographers and reporters spread across the area--but we can't be everywhere at once. That's where you can help.

More than likely, you have a smart phone in your pocket. Before taking pictures or videos, it's best to turn your phone on its side so it fits better on TV.

If taking pictures of hail, we recommend using a ruler to measure the size. If you don't have a ruler, toss a golf ball or quarter in the picture so we can better judge how big the hail is.

Of course, only take pictures and video when it's safe to do so.

Send photos and videos to our social media pages or e-mail at pics@3newsnow.com.
