OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Masey Lawrence, the teenager accused of hitting 10-year-old Abby Whitford with her car at Second and Washington Streets, turned herself into the Sarpy County District Court Friday morning. Whitford later died from her injuries.
Lawrence, 19, was booked into the Sarpy County Jail around 3:45 a.m. on one count of misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide. She also faces charges for speeding and failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Days after the crash, authorities increased their presence in the area.
According to the Sarpy County Jail, Lawrence has posted her $10,000 bond and was released.
