Teen suspects arrested in connection to string of robberies

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Omaha Police Department says two teens have been arrested in connection to five different robberies that took place in March.

The suspects are a 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old male. Each has been booked for five counts of robbery and use of a weapon (knife) to commit a felony. The younger male was also booked for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

Police nabbed the pair after responding to a robbery report at Mariscos El Culich, located at 2229 Leavenworth Street on Tuesday night. Employees said they were robbed by two suspects, one of whom displayed a knife, and pointed police in the last known direction of the two suspects. After setting up a perimeter, police were able to locate and arrest the suspects without incident.

The Omaha Police Department says the suspects are responsible for the following robberies:

  • Monster Glass; 2618 Leavenworth; on 3/5/20
  • El Chango; 2405 Hickory St; on 3/11/20
  • Park Ave Grocery; 1107 Park Ave; on 3/25/20
  • Las Conshitas Bakery; 1344 Park Ave; on 3/25/20
  • Mariscos El Culichi; 2229 Leavenworth; on 3/31/20
