OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — According to a statement from a community spokesperson, one resident at Westgate Assisted Living has died from COVID-19 related complications. Ten residents and nine staff have tested positive at the facility.
Residents who tested positive are in quarantine and staff who tested positive are self-quarantining away from the community.
A spokesperson says all individuals are being monitored regularly and receiving appropriate care.

At Westgate Assisted Living, the safety and well-being of all our residents and team members remains our top priority. To date, 10 residents and nine of our team members have tested positive for COVID-19. Residents who tested positive are in quarantine, and affected team members are self-quarantining away from the community. All of these individuals are being monitored regularly and receiving appropriate medical care.
It is with great sadness that we also confirm that one of our dear residents has passed away due to complications related to COVID-19. Our hearts go out to their family and friends during this difficult time, and we are committed to helping the members of our community heal from this loss.
Our dedicated professionals are diligently monitoring all residents and staff for signs and symptoms of COVID-19, including administering frequent tests and implementing strict quarantine measures. We continue working closely with local health officials and, consistent with the recommendations of and directives by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), as well as federal, state and local regulatory agencies, we have implemented a number of infection-control protocols and precautionary measures throughout our community. We thank our community members for their ongoing support and understanding during this challenging time.
