OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - Tens of thousands packed Memorial Park for the annual Metro Credit Union Celebrates America concert and fireworks Friday night.
People began claiming their spots to watch the show as early as 5 a.m.. Many spent the entire day in the near 100 degree heat waiting for the show to begin.
Omaha's The Confidentials opened the concert, followed by Bostyx who was a last-minute replacement for Survivor which canceled their appearance, and then Starship featuring Mickey Thomas took the stage to cap off the free concert.
A spectacular fireworks display light up the night sky over Memorial Park to get Omaha's 4th of July celebration off with a bang.
