A California man was arrested in western Nebraska after troopers say they found 47 pounds of marijuana in his pickup truck.
The Nebraska State Patrol says 30-year-old Christopher D. Jensen, of Temecula, California, was taken into custody after the discovery was made during a traffic stop around 2 p.m. on Monday.
Troopers say they pulled Jensen over for a license plate violation as he was heading east on Interstate 80 just north of the Hershey exit in Lincoln County.
The trooper could smell the marijuana, according to officials, leading to a search that uncovered 47.1 pounds in three plastic totes in the cab of the pickup truck.
Jensen faces charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and no operator’s license.
