Troutman found guilty in Glenwood, IA murder

A Mills County jury has found Mark Alan Troutman guilty of several counts in the murder of Kathryn Weber that occurred back in September in Glenwood, IA.

They released this following information: 

 

On September 27, 2016, Mark Alan Troutman, age 27, of Sylvania, Ohio, was formally charged by Trial Information with Murder in the First Degree, a Class A felony.

Trial commenced in the District Court of Mills County, Iowa on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. The State of Iowa was represented by Mills County Attorney Naeda Elliott and Assistant Mills County Attorney Tyler Loontjer.

The State finished its case-in-chief on Friday, December 16, 2016, and after the defense was chose not to present any evidence, closing arguments were made and the matter was submitted to the jury.

The jury deliberated for just over two (2) hours and returned a verdict of guilty on the charge of Murder in the First Degree. Sentencing is scheduled for Monday, February 13, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. at the Mills County Courthouse.

A Class A felony is punishable by life in prison without the possibility of parole.
