Two Bank of the West locations robbed Tuesday

Omaha Police are investigating two separate bank robberies from Tuesday morning.

The first robbery call came in from Bank of the West near 168th and Harrison streets around 9:30 a.m. Police say a man came into the bank wearing a bike helmet and a ski mask, then fled the bank on foot with an unknown amount of cash.

Both Gretna and Millard West High Schools were put on lockdown briefly while police searched the area.

The second robbery call came less than an hour later to Bank of the West on 85th and Dodge streets. Police say a man showed a firearm and a note demanding money, then fled in an unknown direction after receiving it.

Police are still investigating both robberies.
