OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Food Bank for the Heartland will assist federal workers during the partial government shutdown by hosting a free mobile food pantry in Bellevue on January 28.

The food pantry will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Chandler View Elementary. Representatives from Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska will be there providing services for veterans, behavioral health needs, workforce development and children services.

Federal workers and their families can park in the lot south of the school and enter through the main entrance.

Food choices will include spaghetti, tomato sauce, canned chicken, rice and other shelf products. Perishables like apples, potatoes, pears, oranges and sliced bread will also be provided.

Those coming should bring boxes or bags to carry food they receive.
