LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) - University of Nebraska Chancellor Ronnie Green released a video message on Wednesday welcoming students back on campus but urging them to be cautious as the coronavirus pandemic lingers on.
“Even though we are back on campus, and we are all so glad for that, we are not back to normal,” Green said. “You hold the success of this semester in your hands. It’s a hard truth, but it’s the truth. Your responsible behavior will be key.”
Green said everyone must be united in their response to the coronavirus. He urges people to stay safe, wear a mask and practice social distancing both on campus and off.
He also recommends that people monitor themselves for symptoms, wash their hands and practice good hygiene.
Green also noted there is free on-campus COVID-19 testing for those who show symptoms.
“Let’s all continue to work together to protect our shared opportunity for teaching, learning, innovation and discovery,” Green said.
Green said there have been months of planning to get ready for an on-safe campus experience, everything from classrooms to dining halls.
