The University of Nebraska administrators are bracing for cutbacks in the budget to be even larger than expected.

The system and its campuses are seeking to close a hole of more than $50 million, resulting from increasing costs and less state money.

According to a UNL campus official, they are expecting more than $8 million in cuts in the coming months and more will be made beyond that.
