OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — UNMC's Center for Reducing Health Disparities is conducting the first statewide assessment of Nebraska's community health workforce.
The study is commissioned by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, and will review some of the health issues addressed by health workers in their routine work, as well as the challenges they face.
The study will also look at the financing of these services provided by community health workers, and how the services have been assimilated into the local health care system to address health disparities, with a focus on maternal and child health.
Community health workers who are over the age of 19 and are interested in participating in the study must work in Nebraska and can complete a survey or contact UNMC.
