Officers were called out to the area of 16th and Yates around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday night after several calls to 911 about suspicious activity.
When police arrived, they found a woman, who has been identified as 31-year-old Rachel Ham, bleeding in the street, she was pronounced dead at the scene, but was not identified until 4:49 p.m.
Police say investigators arrested Ernesto Lugo, 53, for second-degree murder and use of firearm to commit a felony.
