Lincoln Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect in the murder of a convenience store clerk overnight.
Police were called to the Kwik Shop at 14th and Adams for a robbery in progress around 1:30 Thursday morning. Police say they arrived within a minute of receiving the call, and found a witness providing first aid to the clerk who had been shot. Officers took over and began CPR, but the clerk died.
Witnesses and a review of surveillance video describe the person responsible as a black male, 5'2'' to 5'6'', medium build, wearing a black short sleeve t-shirt, camouflage pants, a black glove on his right hand, with a white t-shirt or similar clothing item covering his head. He has a dark colored handgun and was last seen running southbound from the store.
Several customers were in and around the store in the hour before the shooting. If you were near the store after midnight Thursday or have information about the identity of the suspect, call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000.
