A Texas jury hit an Omaha-based trucking company with a multi-million dollar verdict.

Our partners at the Omaha World-Herald report the jury delivered an $89.6 million verdict against Werner Enterprises.

The payment stems from a crash in 2014 on Interstate 20 in Texas that involved a student truck driver and a family from Houston. A 7-year-old boy died in the crash and a 12-year-old girl suffered traumatic brain injury. Two others also suffered brain injuries.

Werner plans to appeal the decision, saying its driver and the company did nothing wrong.
